This last we week we were in Levelock. Levelock is the closest village to Naknek not including South Naknek. With it being a 15 minute plane ride away we flew there everyday and back.
Do to schedules we were able to do VBS for three days in Levelock. Dave, Laura and myself arrived on Tuesday to three kids. Not knowing if there were any more we took a little walk and didn't find any kids near by. After we started we had three more kids show up to VBS. Even though we had a smaller crowd we were able to make good connections with the short time we were there. The next two days we also had around 6 kids.
We had many highlights of the week. Some of them included getting to see Dave's drone. The kids loved getting to see their village and homes from a birds eye view. We were able to take a group photo with it too! We also got to see a cute puppy! Puppies are always a highlight. The main highlight was being able to give the kids Bibles on the last day we were there. We gave them an Action Bible so that way they would be able and interested to read it. The excitement on their faces, the curiosity of what was inside, and the ownership of it being it their own to take home is more than words can say. We're praying that for the ones that can't read will have someone sit down and read it with them.
There was also some laughter that happened. While we were doing crafts one of the kids said that he was the only blonde here today. I asked him, "What color is my hair?" He told me that he calls that color white. Also on the last day Dave told the kids his age to which one of the kids responded that's only 33 years until you're 90! We got some good laughs in.
On Friday we were able to have a fun time of grilling, eating, and yard games at the radio station. The weather was in the upper 60's and sunny! We don't get a lot of those days up here so it was perfect timing. If you hadn't had Dave's chicken you should!
This week we are hoping to get to Kokhanok for a day trip. We are also planning for some fun as Fishtival is this weekend! Oh and I guess I turn 27 on Wednesday too.
As always thank you for your continued support! Thanks for reading the blog! Thanks for your prayers! God really does hear them, just ask Katy if God can hear her. Let us know how we can praying for you!
